Boardwalk Bike Rentals is the newest bike rental company in Santa Monica. Family-owned and opened in the summer of 2021, Boardwalk Bike Rentals is located along Ocean Front Walk just steps away from the Santa Monica Pier and Santa Monica bike trail. Spend the day riding to iconic Southern California locations such as Venice Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Redondo Beach all within reach from Santa Monica.

Boardwalk Bike Rentals has single speed Beach Cruisers, two person adult tandem bikes, kids bikes both with and without training wheels, and kiddie trailers and tag-a-longs that attach to adult cruisers. They offer complimentary bike locks, helmets, and baskets with each rental. No reservations are necessary to rent a bike in Santa Monica, although stock is limited so arrive early, especially in the busy summer months. Those who wish to rent a bike need to be over 18 years old (or with an adult 25+) and provide a physical Drivers License as a security deposit for their rental.

Boardwalk Bike Rentals is open from 10A-5P daily* and located at 1619 Ocean Front Walk, Santa Monica next to Big Dean’s Cafe.

The City of Santa Monica was ranked the No. 7 most bikable City in the US by People for Bikes. At just 8 square miles and plenty of public bike racks, you can explore all of Santa Monica on just two wheels. One of the most popular routes is to rent a bike at the Pier and follow the Marvin Braude Bike Trail to Venice Beach to see Muscle Beach, Venice Skate Park, and visit the many shops along the Venice Boardwalk. The trail to the Venice Fishing Pier is about 3.5 miles, so you can bike there and back in about an hour, although you should stop to see some sights along the way. Read more about the must-see Venice attractions here.
