Looking for new ways to get outdoors and move your body?

If you love refreshing breezes and gorgeous ocean views, then a fabulous way to work up a sweat is with a beach cycling class on Santa Monica Beach.

Beach Cycle offers stationary bike workout classes led by world-class instructors, all in the great outdoors, where you can breathe in the ocean air and watch the waves. These high-energy classes run for 45 minutes and are a mix of cardio, strength training, and muscle sculpting.

Just like the offerings at most Santa Monica gyms, Beach Cycle classes run at various times in the day, seven days a week. Schedules are published two weeks in advance, so you can plan ahead for your beachside ride.

Sounds good? Hereโ€™s how to nab your spot in these fun beach cycling outdoor workouts.

What to Expect When Beach Cycling at Santa Monica

Beach Cycleโ€™s outdoor workouts are designed for pretty much anyone, from beginners to experienced stationary bike riders. No matter what your fitness or experience level, there are a few things to know to ensure a great experience thatโ€™s on par with what youโ€™d find in the best Santa Monica cycling studios.

  1. Reserve your ride.

These amazing workouts are incredibly popular, and they book up well in advance. Plus, drop-in options are not offered, so booking is an absolute must. The good news is that reserving a bike is a breeze and can be done through Beach Cycleโ€™s website.

  1. Show up 20 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Leave yourself plenty of time to check in and set up your bike and headphones so youโ€™re ready to kick into gear when class starts. This also gives you a chance to meet your instructor and ask questions before beginning your ride.

  1. Come prepared.

For a safe and energizing ride, youโ€™ll want to bring a few essentials with you:

  • Running or cycling shoes (SPD shoes recommended)
  • A full water bottle
  • A towel
  • A light jacket

For the safety of all Beach Cycle instructors and participants, social distancing and sanitization practices are strictly followed during all classes.

Where to Go for Beach Cycling Outdoor Workouts

Beach Cycle is located on the Santa Monica Beach, next to lifeguard tower 28 by Ocean Park. Street parking is available on the nearby streets. A paid public parking lot is also available next to the beach. Your booking confirmation email will also provide complete details on where to go for your beach cycling Santa Monica class.

In case of rain or other bad weather conditions, classes will be postponed, and the fee for the class will be credited back to your account. Email notifications are sent in the case of cancelled classes, and updates are also posted on Beach Cycleโ€™s social media.
