ABOUT AIDA
One of opera’s grandest and greatest works, Verdi’s Aida is an immortal opera of love, war, and betrayal, featuring gorgeous hieroglyphics by the iconic graffiti artist RETNA. Latonia Moore stars as Aida, an Ethiopian princess torn between her people and her love for the enemy general. Jealousy, betrayal, and two warring kingdoms clash in one of the world’s most beloved operas. The epic drama returns to the LA Opera stage (for the first time in 16 years) in a sensational production also starring Russell Thomas and conducted by the company’s music director, James Conlon. Expect to be further blown away by a huge chorus and orchestra, a ballet, and beautiful music that’s both intimate and heroic in this grandest of grand operas. Visit the Aida page to learn more about this production including a synopsis, full list of cast and creative team.
