Pedal on the Pier seeks to raise a million dollars for the Harold Robinson Foundation on June 5 at the iconic Santa Monica Pier overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Over 500 riders will pedal stationary bikes on the Santa Monica Pier’s historic boardwalk for 4 hours along with some of the city’s top cycling instructors. Riders raise funds to sponsor their spot in the event which supports the Harold Robinson Foundation. Non-pedaling attendees can eat, dance, and cheer the riders on while listening to great DJs, musical performances, and special guest speakers.
The Harold Robinson Foundation is a 501(c)(3) working to improve the lives of marginalized children by providing camp-based programs that offer diverse recreational programs designed to strengthen confidence and independence while also building character and developing leadership skills. The Harold Robinson Foundation seeks to invest in students, their families, schools, and communities in South Los Angeles at no cost to participants, using these experiences to foster positive discourse, provide tools for reflection, and help young men and women set goals to rewrite the future of their schools and communities.
Each bike/ team must raise $2,500 total and can be comprised of 1-5 members who will ride 45-minute relay-style from 12 pm-4 pm. There is entertainment from live DJs and musical performers and food from over a dozen restaurants for registered riders. Immediate family members of riders are invited to the pier to cheer riders on.
