The Los Angeles Tourism and Convention board is inviting Angelenos to plan a staycation to help jump-start the local economy. Pacific Park is showing the campaign colors and a โ€œLA๐Ÿ’™โ€ message on the Ferris wheel

The COVID-19 pandemic has closed hotels, attractions, and restaurants all over the world in an effort to stem the spread of the dangerous global outbreak. The Santa Monica Pier was closed for over three months and hundreds of local Santa Monica businesses are reporting they may not be able to reopen once the crisis is over. As the curve begins to flatten, and front line medical workers start to get a handle on the disease, industry leaders and economists are now facing an unprecedented economic downturn. The LA Tourism and Convention (Los Angeles Tourism) Board has released the results of a new study that shows if every employed Angeleno stays three nights in an L.A. hotel, supports three restaurants and visits three attractions, it would inject $1.4 billion back into the L.A. economy and create more than 20,000 jobs.

Infographic provided by LA TourismPacific Park is joining LA Tourism in promoting LA๐Ÿ’™, a program calling on Angelenos to start planning a staycation and help jump-start the local economy. Los Angeles Tourism has aggregated special staycation offers from more than 100 hospitality businesses, valid through the end of the year, available at discoverlosangeles.com/LALove.

To bring awareness to this local call-to-action, the Pacific Wheel will be lit in blue and feature the message “LA๐Ÿ’™”.
