The annual Santa Monica Classic 5K and 10K race is taking place on Sunday, September 12, 2021. Sponsored by The McCourt foundation, this run takes place on the streets of downtown Santa Monica alongside the ocean. Participants can choose from a 5K or 10K and even have their little ones join in on the Kids Run. The 5K course includes a steady uphill through portions of Miles 1 & 2. The 10K course from miles 1-4 includes steady uphill, while the last two miles are a gradual downhill. The course is sanctioned and certified by USA Track & Field.
The race starts at 2600 Barnard Way in Santa Monica and ends at the corner of Ocean and Broadway. Check out the map for the course here.

7:30AM: Corrals Open
8:00AM: 5K Start
8:3AM: 10K Start
10:15AM: Surfer Shuffle Kids Run Start
8:30AM – 11:00AM: Finish Festival
The Finish Festival will be held on the Eastern portion of the Santa Monica Pier parking lot. Runners can celebrate their accomplishments with family and friends and enjoy some post-workout food.
Register for the Santa Monica Classic and receive a commemorative race bib, finisher medal, and ASICS finisher shirt.
If you’re headed to Santa Monica on September 12th, either for the race or just to enjoy a day in town, plan ahead for road closures and full parking lots. A portion of Ocean Avenue will be closed for the duration of the race, so plan to park in one of the many parking lots in Downtown Santa Monica and walk a few blocks down to the Pier. About the McCourt Foundation
The McCourt Foundation was founded in 1992 as an organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of patients and families affected by health-challenges within the neurology community and beyond. TMF was founded upon and still remains focused on Neurological Diseases to help patients and families affected by Alzheimer’, MS, ALS, and Parkinson’s diseases, but recognizing the importance of other health-related causes, has since expanded its horizon to partner with other like-minded organizations. TMF sponsors the Santa Monica Classic, as well as the Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K, and the Los Angeles Marathon.
